Whakapapa Ski Area is located on the north western slopes, 10 minutes drive from National Park Village, and has spectacular views across central North Island. Whakapapa's Happy Valley is renowned for its world class beginner facilities. But has also numerous options for the intermediate and more advanced skier and boarder. Turoa Ski Area is located on the south western slopes, 45 minutes from National Park Village, with spectacular views towards Mt Taranaki. Turoa is a supreme winter playground for beginners right through to advanced skiers and boarders.
